Does IWRAW Asia Pacific solely focus on the Asia Pacific region?
IWRAW Asia Pacific is an international non-profit women’s NGO based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, and has consultative status with the Committee for the Elimination of all forms of Discrimination Against Women (CEDAW) at the United Nations. The name of the organisation refers to our location and our primary area of focus, but it does not restrict our scope. We attend every CEDAW session in Geneva and facilitate the engagement with state reviews of NGOs from all countries that have ratified CEDAW. We work at national, regional and global levels in partnership with national-level partners and regional and global networks.
How can my organisation work with IWRAW Asia Pacific?
We are continually seeking to apply the CEDAW framework to emerging women’s rights issues. We therefore welcome discussions with women’s rights and other human rights organisations around this frame.
We invite you to participate in campaigns, convenings and workshops organised by ourselves as well as by our partners.
