As you know, we are coordinating a Global Campaign towards the ratification and use of the Optional Protocol to CEDAW – Our Rights Are Not Optional! Global Campaign for the Ratification and Optimal Use of the OP CEDAW.
A critical aim of this campaign is to support women’s groups in states that have not yet ratified OP CEDAW by providing them with a diversity of lobbying ideas. To help us better do this, we plan to collect experiences of women’s rights activists and groups like yours who have successfully lobbied their governments to ratify the OP CEDAW.
We really need your help to do this work. Your contribution will help support the work of hundreds of women’s groups advocating for ratification of the OP CEDAW globally. Your assistance will of course be acknowledged in the document to be published later this year.

Please feel free to send us any other documents or materials you think would be useful also to illustrate what you have written in the online survey to our email at iwraw-ap.org@iwraw-ap.org with the words “op cedaw ratification strategies” in the subject line. Lastly, we would also appreciate it if you could suggest names and contact information of any other individuals and/or organizations who played an important role in ratifying OP CEDAW in your country, and whose comments would add to efforts of women’s groups elsewhere.
