IWRAW Asia Pacific's information packages demonstrate the application of the CEDAW Convention - and where relevant, other international human rights treaties as well - in the context of a particular theme. They are based on information that has been digested and reprocessed out of shadow reports, concluding comments, press releases, general recommendations, and any other documents relevant to the topic at hand. Each of these packages describe the forms of discrimination related to the theme, explain their causes, analyse the approaches adopted by the countries concerned to overcome this, and demonstrate the relevance of the CEDAW Convention. Identified themes include trafficking in women, women's political participation, sexual and reproductive rights, violence against women, and Article 5 (cultural stereotypes) and Article 6 (marriage and family) of CEDAW.
