Why should I participate in the programme?
The programme is meant specifically to brief NGO representatives attending the CEDAW session about the process and procedures and to equip them with the knowledge and skills to make the most effective intervention in the process.
Who should attend the programme?
Representatives of NGOs from countries scheduled to report to the CEDAW Committee. To find out if your country has been scheduled to report to the CEDAW Committee refer to the website of the OHCHR at : http://www2.ohchr.org/english/bodies/cedaw/sessions.htm.
How much does it cost?
Write to IWRAW Asia Pacific for the latest estimated cost of attending the training and CEDAW session. You should essentially budget for airfare, accommodation, daily allowance for meals, transport to and from the airport in your home country and where the CEDAW session is held, visa fees (if any), and transit costs (if any), medial insurance, and fees for the training workshop.
Who funds this programme?
UNIFEM (since 1997), UNFPA (since 2005), UNICEF (in 2008), NORAD (in 2008 / 2009).
