Institution Building

An Overview

This programme aims to develop structured responses to aid the organisations growth and evolution to fulfill its mission, vision and programmatic mandates.

In terms of structure and the way we work, we are a facilitating organisation that works closely with national level organisations and international processes of treaty bodies, forging links between the two. While our area of work is vast, the staff consists of twelve persons (with plans for hiring a Programme Manager, two additional programme officer and one person in the administration department). The core staff consists of persons highly qualified in their respective areas of work – human rights law; management of accounts and finance; management of information; information technology and organisation development. We act as an effective secretariat to the wider group of experts – the Advisory Committee; partner organisations; the Board of Directors and Advisory Groups on specific projects.

To enable the core staff to do its work efficiently, we need to provide for adequate opportunities for growth to keep up with the fast changing global scenario and to sharpen its own skills. We also need to ensure adequate space and equipment for the staff to work effectively.
