CEDAW SESSIONS

Shadow / Alternative reports
NGOs in these countries are encouraged to prepare shadow/alternative reports to be submitted to CEDAW. Guidelines for the preparation of a shadow/alternative report can be found here.

Shadow/Alternative reports that have been submitted to the CEDAW Committee under our “From Global to Local” programme can be found here.

Country reports
Please refer to the website of the OHCHR for links to reports of State parties scheduled for review from the 40th session onwards. OHCHR will also make available all alternative reports made to the Committee. They will be listed under the section “Information provided to the Committee)

For older reports up to 39th session go to the Division for the Advancement of Women website. (Note: Not all State party reports are available online.)

Note: To overcome the backlog of reports awaiting consideration, the Committee met three times in 2006, and will meet 3 times in 2007. The Committee met in parallel chambers in 2006 at the 36 th CEDAW session where they reviewed 15 reporting countries, and will again meet in parallel chambers in 2007 at the 37 th and 39 th CEDAW session.
